Sustainability & Land Acknowledgement
Sustainability
Laborde is built on the belief that jewelry should be treasured, not thrown away. Every piece starts with something already in the world: vintage brass, found stones, upcycled metals, and materials with a history of their own, reworked by hand into something meant to last for years, not one season. This is slow fashion by design, made in small batches, nothing mass produced and forgotten. And when a piece needs a little care along the way, we try our best to repair it, because keeping jewelry alive matters more than replacing it. We'd rather make one piece you wear for a decade than ten you wear once, because the most sustainable piece of jewelry is the one you actually keep and cherish.
Land Acknowledgement
Laborde acknowledges we are situated on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Land acknowledgements allow us to engage in ongoing reconciliation by reflecting on one physical place, however we also travel globally and our customers meet us online from many lands. To centre reconciliation and Indigenous justice, Laborde asks our clients and partners to take time to learn about the lands they are currently on here.
